Next Christmas I plan to give a lot more crochet gifts. Several people did receive handmade gifts and loved them. My biggest problem is deciding on what to make. I do plan on making some scarves and hats – with possibly some amigurumis. That is so vague but really is the only plan I have right now. I just plan to crochet and finish projects – then decide later on giving.

I have so many patterns I want to try and plan to in 2012. My goal is to crochet more and so some original patterns as well. If I can stay organized and focus, then 2012 is going to be a great year.

I made the girl a cute platypus with a pouch to carry her young – that I also made. I’m going to write up the pattern for both and take some better pictures. I took a couple of pics just in case they got lost in all of her toys = so the pics are a reminder of something else I want to do.

Hopefully I can get done half of what I hoped. If that happens – I will consider that a win.

This month I’m taking part in the Ultimate Blog Challenge. It’s a challenge to blog everyday. I did this in October with one of my other blogs and this month I want to do it with Crochet Mae. I want to post more and get this blog off the ground.

I mainly blog about what I’m crocheting or what I want to crochet. I’m also hoping to write a few patterns that will be available here. My goal in 2010 was to do more with this blog and that was a big fail. Now I have the same goal but will work harder to make it happen.

I plan on sticking with small items that hopefully I will also have for sale here at Crochet Mae. I’m working on getting a shop up and running. I may even list a few things on eBay and Etsy. I definitely want to crochet more in the New Year. I have a lot of yarn, ideas, and patterns.

After having a dry crochet spell in October, I will most likely be cutting back my Christmas crochet plans. It is probably for the best anyway as I really want to give some craft shows a try in 2011. This will give me time to get that project started before the end of the year.

Right now I think I will crochet simple Christmas gifts like chapstick holders, amigurumis, and cup holders. Leave the hats, blankets, and other projects for birthday gifts.

I want to crochet four hats – that is only one a week. I also want to do a few small projects like chapstitck holders and hair bows. I want to make the hair bows in various shapes like a ladybug, flowers, etc. I still want to work on a few items for Etsy. I’ve never given it a try but would like to. It just seems I have a lot to do and time to do it. I just lack something – motivation? I have never been good at finishing projects. While some people find great joy in finishing something, I feel a little sad. I guess there is the letdown of being done with it and figuring out what to do next. I also hate to make plans. This is problematic since I really need to do some planning since it helps me stay on track. I just need an attitude adjustment.

I am finishing up some mini Jayne Cobb hats to put in the shop. They make cute Christmas tree ornaments. I’d also like to do a few more crochet ornaments. I really like small projects since I have such a hard time finishing larger ones. Hopefully I can get my hook in gear and get some Christmas projects knocked out this month. I hate waiting til the last minute although that is usually what happens.

I do have a baby blanket I want to crochet but don’t know if I will get to it before the fair. I guess it would give me a reason to buy yarn and give me something to crochet. I may have to think about it. I have so many half-finished projects that I would love to clear out. It just seems wrong to start something new with so many projects needing to be finished.

Not to critique but I’ve never crocheted with knitting needles before. Still it was kind of nice to see crochet ‘featured’ on Spongebob. There are so many Spongebob crochet projects. While Squidward as looking at the magazine, he said something like, “oh I’ve never seen that before.”

Kirby is a pretty well-know video game character. Now he has been transformed into a yarn figure in this side-scrolling platform game. I wonder if the success of Little Big Planet had anything to do with Kirby’s yarn makeover? It is so good to see yarn – which I love – married with my other love – video games.

Just look at these screenshots. I’m sure some crafty folks have already started blankets, amigurumi, and more in homage to this game – which reminds me I do have pink yarn that is just lying around..

To celebrate, I plan on crocheting as I’m sure many crocheters will be doing. I also plan to continue teaching my husband how to crochet. I’ve given him one ‘lesson’ and it’s time for another one.

I also want to write a few crochet patterns especially for some of my crochet items I have on my blog. Hopefully I can get them done this month. I’ve started on Snellie the Snail and will probably get Yoshi done since I want to do a pink Yoshi since he is my daughter’s favorite in Super Mario Brothers Wii.
