Teacups in crochet are so cute. They make a great fun toy for little girls. This pattern is from Lion Brand and is actually supposed to be a teacup pincushion. It was really easy to work up and took only about an hour. Four teacups, four plates, and a teapot would be an adorable Christmas gift. This is one pattern I need to keep in mind when planning out crochet gifts.

I’ve been wanting for a while to make one of these cute patterns featuring pots and flowers. I found one on the Lion Brand website and thought it’d be a perfect little gift for Mother’s Day. My mom loves flowers and has many in her garden. Here is one that needs no watering and weeding. It can also be enjoyed all year around. I like small crochet projects that I can finish in a day or two – which is good since special occasions always seem to be sneaking up on me.

For at least a year, I’ve been wanting to make a Hellboy, Jr. crochet doll. Somewhere we have a Hellboy, Jr. comic book where he is just too adorable and I thought would make a cute amigurumi. This is my first attempt. I couldn’t find any thin, black yarn in my stash so I had to use a bulky black yarn. It looks OK but I think it would be better with something not so thick.

Anyway, we were watching Hellboy II the Golden Army when I remembered that I had wanted to make him in crochet, so I started that night. My daughter hasn’t claimed him yet, so right now he’s still with the few amis I have made for myself.

I recently made Malcom Reynolds of the TV show ‘Firefly’ for a swap, of course. This was my third attempt. I had never tried to make embroidery thread hair before, so this was a bit of a challenge. I also finally got a crocheted face that I can be proud of. He was inspired by the work of Geek Station Central. I couldn’t do a browncoat in felt so I just crocheted one. And I just had to do a gun holster. I may have to make me one now.

What would a holiday be without an interpretation of Cthulhu? He is missing a small, cotton tail. Once I either find one or give up and make one, he will be complete. My daughter has claimed this one for herself.

I did make his wings out of a heart to add some Valentine to his look.

Next up is St. Paddy’s Cthuhulu which should be challenging since he is naturally green.

Here’s the latest Cthulhu creation. I have named him Hu Dat. He is decked out in New Orleans Saints colors and is wearing the number 7 in honor of long-time Saints kicker Morten Anderson. Here’s hoping the Saints win it all Sunday! Geaux Saints!

So I missed Thanksgiving but I did do a Christmas Cthulhu. My husband loves these so his reaction to them makes me want to create more. I did a Christmas one for his stocking. I added a scarf and hat to make him extra cute and Christmas-looking. Working on a few more themed Cthulhus that will be gifts. Once my friends have received them then I will post pictures.

Ever since I started making amis I have been wanting to crochet Zero from the Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s one of my favorite movies and Zero is one of my favorite characters. I did a body even though I could have just attached the felt to the head since Zero really doesn’t have a body. I did a crochet body since I wanted to stitch the felt to something. This would also make it easier to display it. I made this one as a Christmas present but plan to do my own Zero real soon.

The Christmas celebrations have begun so I can start sharing some of my latest crochet projects. Here is a cute little horse inspired by one that I saw on Ravelry. I didn’t want to follow the pattern because I get lost when following some patterns and find that I frog way less if I just wing it.

It turned out really cute. In fact I may have to make me one.
